When the Central Park Squirrel Census was happening in October of 2018, Sighters identified themselves to park-goers with the help these buttons. "What are you doing?" park-goers asked. "Squirrel Census," Sighters said, tapping a button with their pencil. Nothing more needed to be said. But when the counting was done, Sighters sported The Acorn on jackets, backpacks, purses, totes, desktops, cork boards, etc. Seeing someone else with The Acorn — on the subway, walking down 2nd, elbowing their way along the High Line — was a bonding moment, like a "Fight Club" silent squint and nod. They knew the deal; they were a part of something bigger. Now, anyone with a little cash can join The Acorn Club. Because we're sellouts. This 3-pack gets the buyer all three buttons worn by our volunteers, including the "'Official Sighter' Big Yellow One," even if they've never counted with us. Maybe the next time you see someone with The Acorn, in fact, you should ask them, "Did you really count squirrels?" If they say, "Yes," ask: "Which acre?" If they answer with their acre number, well ... you KNOW, don't you? ;) 'Big Yellow' is 1.5 inches in diameter. 'Little Yellow' and 'Little Navy' are an inch in diameter.
